Prior to being admitted as a Lawyer in 1999, Alex was a commercial and corporate banker with Westpac and Barclays.

Following admission, Alex became a Partner in a small boutique Sydney banking and finance firm in his early thirties prior to merging with a national firm before becoming a Partner in an international firm.

The experience obtained by Alex in the banking industry and in both small and large law firms has created a unique and multifaceted skill set with emphasis on commerciality.

Alex has acted for many international and national banks, investment banks, non bank financiers, fund managers and family offices and maintains multiple panel appointments. He is experienced in most areas of banking and finance, particularly in the fields of corporate/commercial finance and development finance.

Alex is hands on and is accessible. He particularly enjoys working with growing finance companies, building relationships providing value add services.

Recent significant transactional matters undertaken by Alex include;

• Acting for a syndicate of lenders (local and offshore lenders) for the funding of the acquisition and development of numerous NSW property development projects;

• Acting for a non bank in the refinance of a large portfolio of assets in the hospitality industry;

• Assisting a large financial institution with a regulatory and compliance audit including advice, recommendations and training components;

• Assisting a new to market non bank lender establish a suite of loan and security documents and credit policies;

• Acting for the borrower on the refinance (consolidation) and additional construction funding (total of $76M) of a 220 unit commercial and residential development project in western Sydney.
